V V Our favorite roman numeral for so many reasons. For one thing (actually five things) it’s the number of years we’ve Stayed the Course towards Victory in Iraq (represented, appropriately, by the V-Sign, the twisted-around Peace sign). And is it a coincidence (see Double Down) that our Leader’s nickname is not one but two Vs? Vacancy 1. The Heroic Republican Strategy for improving Government operations by leaving open the many Jobs that do things we don’t believe in (see FEMA, IRS, NEA, ETC). 2. The disruptive result of the Democrat Party’s refusal to take Vacation so that President Bush can make Recess Appointments for the critical openings that have accumulated since the last recess. Vacation How George W. Bush demonstrates personal Leadership for his Tenet that less Government is better. Vague Intolerable uncertainties in the Geneva Conventions that must be clarified before we can start following them again. For example, when they say “don’t Humiliate Prisoners,” does it or does it not mean we can use that valuable Interrogation technique, pioneered at Abu Ghraib, of putting panties over their heads?! Valentines Day A day to recognize the ones you Love the most. Let’s give the Base another Tax Cut! Valor A Patriotic willingness to make the supreme sacrifice. For us, this would be supporting a Tax increase to cover our new Government spending. Fortunately, considering our personal histories of ducking Combat, People won’t need to worry about that anytime soon. Value 1. A way of behaving to Pass Down to our Children, as in “Family Values.” 2. The amount you have to Pay for something, as in “value for the dollar.” 3. Benefit, for example not having to pay for our stuff by passing down Debt to our children, as in “Conservative Values.” Values A major Conservative political edge. We get lots of Votes from People who care deeply about shared values. It’s their nice way of saying they want Government policy to benefit people just like themselves (and not those other people). You know who we mean. Vanity An important Conservative value. Otherwise, how could we get those big Campaign Contributions with fake “personalized” thank you notes from George and Laura? Veteran A Conservative who served in Combat. Any Liberal who said he did is Lying, as the Conservatives who served with him will confirm on request! Veterans Day A day dedicated to a type of Citizen who Votes for us in such great numbers that we’re doing everything we can to make more of them! Veto A metric for how much the President is in sync with his Congress, specifically how much more to the Right he is. Considering that Right Wing Republicans are running the Legislature, his Stem Cell Research veto shows he’s W-A-A-A-Y right! Veto-Proof Majority A Hypothetical situation occasionally discussed among ivory-tower academicians as an alternative to the natural condition of Presidential Power, the Blank Check. Viagra McCain’s Plan B, once again (as is his wont) following in the Footsteps of a Historic GOP Leader (Dole, for a Change). Vice 1. A bad habit that, when indulged in the workplace, results in termination for disorderly conduct. An example is public use of an Obscenity to disparage a co-worker. 2. An affectionate name for Dick Cheney, who, as President of the Senate, oversees etiquette and decorum in this most courtly of institutions. Vice President The companion to the President, with him every step of the way in rolling out his agenda. George W Bush has an especially dominant VP! Most people think its Cheney but it’s actually Murphy. Victimhood Whining that things are unfair, like Clarence playing the Race Card during his Supreme Court Confirmation. McCain's a double victim. Not only has Obama sucked up all of his former Celebrity, Barack's dollar Bill comment gained him the unfair benefit of Voters being reminded of his Color. Viet Nam A Civil War the US jumped in on. Iraq is completely different - their civil war is just kicking off. Vietnamization The failed strategy of the Nixon Administration for achieving Victory, totally unlike Iraqification, the promising strategy of the Bush Administration for achieving Victory. Victory Having the right judges on the Supreme Court -- and in Massachusetts! Vision A view of Reality (either actual reality or, in our case, Dream reality). Voodoo A mystical Belief of Simple Caribbean People that Wealth and Power can be Magically achieved through animal Sacrifice. The Cayman Island variant, called "Supply Side Economics," holds that wealth and power can be magically achieved through Revenue sacrifice (see Tax Cuts). Vote A technical detail in the operation of the Television device. Maybe something to do with electricity (or is that volt?). Whatever. Voters Essential creatures carefully husbanded by allocation to ranches (see Redistricting), feeding (see Pork), herding (see Television), milking (see Campaign Contributions), fleecing (see HMOs), and harvesting (see Optional War). Voucher Something that makes payments easier to make. It's how we pay off Religious Organizations for their Campaign Contributions to Conservative Candidates at the same time we pay back Teachers' Unions for their contributions to Liberal candidates. |
